Poly has discontinued the CA12CD 92500-01 (2014) and CS12CD-S 92900-01 (2019). The CA12CD-S 207799-01 has not been manufactured since December of 2021.
The Poly CA22CD-SC is the current Wireless Push-to -Talk Adapter. We currently have the Poly CA22CD-SC, CORDLESS PTT, DECT 6.0, PJ-7 (P/N: 217100-01) IN STOCK but have a limited supply.
Good News! If your Poly headsets worked on the CA12CD or CA12CD-S they will be compatible with the new CA22CD-SC. (Note that you cannot use the push to talk adapters or batteries from your old CA12CD-S on the new CA22CD-SC and vice versa).
A main reason why Poly added the CA22CD to the push to talk family is because of European legislation mandating that ALL lithium batteries are able to measure temperature. This is for all similar devices and not just Poly. The CA22CD batteries will not last any longer or have more talk time.
3 of the other main difference are:
First, mainly for military and critical aviation applications they have changed from 64k encryption on the CA12CD-S to 256k encryption on the CA22CD.
Second, it is probably imperceptible for the end-user, but the latency or response time has been improved by about 36 milliseconds on the CA22CD-SC.
The third difference is they have added a USB port to the CA22CD-SC. The CA22CD-SC comes with a 2-prong adapter and one end connects to the radio and the other end connects to the CA22CD base just like the CA12CD-S.
The CA12CD-S is a cordless PTT for use in Public Safety Dispatch and Air Traffic Control applications.
