2026 Dispatcher's Guide

Possibly, the most disruptive news for 911 communication centers in 2025 was HP/Poly’s announcement of their exit from the 911 dispatch Push-to-talk, "special" 911 and aviaition headset market. For decades, Poly (formerly Plantronics) was the "gold standard" for dispatch headsets and specialized Push-to-talk hardware. Their decision to discontinue these niche product lines—specifically the CA series of PTT adapters—has sent shockwaves through PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points).

End-of-Life Concerns: Agencies are now facing "last-time-buy" deadlines and must urgently find validated hardware that integrates with their existing consoles. The Headset Team has Poly and non-Poly solutions that our customers find are great solutions and meet their needs.

Transition Options: While Poly’s departure leaves a vacuum in specialized hardware that requires ruggedized, fail-safe reliability our customers have several great options from JPL Telecom, Jabra, Addasound, EPOS and SHG.  See below for each manufacturers solutions.

Poly’s Exit Clarification: Although many in the market (namely competitors to Poly, resellers, etc) say that Poly is “leaving the headset market in 2025” this is not entirely true.  Poly is still providing many of the 911 center headset favorites like the HW510, HW520, HW540, HW710, HW720, etc.  All with the complete 2 year warranty when purchased from TheHeadsetTeam.com.  See below.
